Meeting between Officials from Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Governor of the Province of Pika-gayan Aims to Advance Bilateral Relations
As the South China Sea dispute escalates between China and the Philippines, China's Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nong Rong, met with Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla on Friday (2nd) in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. The meeting took place during the opening ceremony of the 2024 "China-ASEAN Year of Cultural Exchange".
The Agriculture Development Bank deeply introduced the spirit of the Central Conference on External Work and expressed that building a community with a shared future for mankind is a core concept of China, which is widely welcomed by ASEAN countries. China's development has brought tremendous opportunities to neighboring countries. He pointed out that being a good neighbor, promoting friendly relations, mutual beneficial cooperation and seeking common development are in line with the fundamental interests of China and the Philippines. China is committed to implementing the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, insisting on resolving differences through dialogue and communication, and promoting the normalization of bilateral relations.
The Agricultural Development Bank expressed their desire for prominent individuals from both the Philippines and China, such as Maamba, to work together for this cause. They also pointed out the immense potential for cooperation between Kagayan Province and relevant Chinese provinces and cities such as Fujian. They look forward to enhancing exchanges and utilizing channels such as sister provinces and sister cities to continuously deepen pragmatic cooperation and strengthen the foundation of friendship between China and the Philippines.
The former ambassador expressed a deep impression of China's development achievements, stating that the Philippines and China are permanent neighbors and must maintain a good relationship. He believes that the two countries should engage in dialogue to resolve their differences and work together to maintain regional peace and stability. He also mentioned that Kalinga province is the closest Philippine province to China, providing a wide range of opportunities for cooperation in areas such as agriculture. He hopes to serve as a bridge to promote friendship and cooperation between the Philippines and China.
