TEPCO re-explains Fukushima nuclear waste leak, cites human error

  On Thursday (15th), the Tokyo Electric Power Company of Japan provided further clarification on the cause of the nuclear waste water leakage at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, stating that it was due to human error on Wednesday (7th). Last Wednesday, about 5.5 tons of radioactive contaminated water leaked from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant's water purification system. According to Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO), the leak occurred on Thursday morning in the high-temperature incinerator building while the facility was cleaning and treating contaminated water from the reactor building with the "second cesium adsorption system" to reduce radiation levels in preparation for maintenance. The Chinese New Year is approaching and Chinatown is adorned with festive lights for the celebration.


 As the Lunar New Year approaches, the spring atmosphere in Singapore's Chinatown, known as "Niu Che Shui", is becoming more and more vibrant. Just like previous years, Niu Che Shui is adorned with new spring decorations and various Chinese New Year lights, creating a bustling traditional festive atmosphere for visitors to the annual market to purchase New Year goods.




The various light decorations have been steadily delivered to Chinatown. Despite the scorching sun, workers are working hard to assemble all the lights. Passersby and tourists who happen to pass by are stopping to witness the spectacle and take photos as mementos.




The first construction project to begin is the Golden Dragon Soaring Clouds between Xinqiao Road and Yudongxuan Street. Along with auspicious dragons, the design also includes golden ingots and carp, symbolizing abundant wealth and prosperity, and a successful transition to a higher level, wishing everyone a successful and fortunate new year.
