On Tuesday (16th), the Singaporean panda, Le Le, successfully completed one month of quarantine and will be transported back to Sichuan, China as originally planned.
After the final public appearance on the 13th of last month, Lele entered the enclosure the next day and underwent a comprehensive health check, with a good physical condition. Lele will take a cargo plane back to China on Tuesday. The flight is scheduled to depart from Changi Airport at 7:15 pm and arrive at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport at 11:30 pm. After arriving in China, Lele will be sent to an isolation facility in Huayong, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province for immune observation.
The entire transportation process will begin at the River Ecological Park. The transportation crates containing the animals will be loaded onto an air-conditioned truck and then transported to Changi Airport, where they will be secured onto a tray and towed to the tarmac. The staff will then use the cockpit door to bring the crates, along with approximately 50 kilograms of bamboo shoots, bamboo, and fruit, into the plane and secure them. The temperature in the cabin will be maintained at a range of 12 to 16 degrees Celsius, and the humidity will be kept at a low level. Additionally, the staff will cool down the cabin one hour before takeoff.
The team consists of a deputy animal manager from Wanti Conservation Group, Zheng Tingni, who is responsible for taking care of Lele, Dr. Wang Yirui, Assistant Director of Animal Medical and Health Department, a keeper from China, and two pilots in charge of the return flight.
