Last Thursday (18th), a man from Michigan accidentally fell into a frozen lake, and even the responding police officers struggled to rescue him. Luckily, the man's pet dog stayed by his side and cleverly worked with the authorities to successfully bring his owner back to shore.
According to American media on Monday (22nd), Officer Kammeron Bennetts responded to a call on the day of the incident where a 65-year-old man had fallen into the lake and immediately rushed to the scene for rescue. He recalled that at the time, the lake was frozen and he was unable to throw a lifebuoy to the man. At that moment, the pet dog Ruby stood by its owner's side and upon his command, immediately ran towards Bennetts. After Bennetts attached the lifebuoy to the dog's harness, Ruby returned to its owner's side.
A man took the life preserver from Ruby and was rescued back to shore by Bennetts and a firefighter before heading to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the man was not seriously injured and was soon released from the hospital and returned home.
